Winter League 2017-2018 : It’s a Wrap!

I would like to thank everyone who participated in this year’s PBAM season, especially those who helped on a consistent basis. Considering it was the Council’s first year running the league & some minor hiccups, it was a success.

I’ve learned that volunteering to run a league of 400+ players is NOT an easy task & you CANNOT please everyone. Sometimes I wonder how one can do this without being paid.

The Answer: Passion & Dedication.

This is why I respect Tita Lydia, Tito Frank & my parents for helping run the league after all these years. I would especially like to thank Dabbie Mayuga as she was assigned the most difficult task (other than the treasurers) of scheduling & adjusting games throughout the season; Bonie Lingon, Mel Natividad & Aaron Poonin for setting up & monitoring the games; Len Lalic & those from PAAWIS who helped w/the fundraising; Ed Vasquez for emceeing the opening ceremonies & awards night; Bangg Mendiola for supplying the scorekeepers & Council with food & wages; Miguel for updating the PBAM website; to the scorekeepers who did a great job game in game out; & to the families of the Council who were patient enough to endure the hectic season for 6mths.

Also, a big thanks to the associations who were part of the Council: FCAWI, BANNA, PAAWIS, AllCity, RUN CDN, AK, Bakers, UKent/Gilas, JHO Driving & GIG. If it wasn’t for these people, the league wouldn’t be running how it should be. We all deserve a break!!!”
