1. A player must wear the original team jersey or the same-colored jersey as the original.
2. A player must have their own unique number on their jersey. Players on the same team cannot have the same number.
Note: players should be consistent using the same number throughout the season.
3. The opposing team will be awarded 5 POINTS FOR EACH PLAYER THAT STEPS ON THE COURT WITHOUT COMPLYING TO RULES #1 and #2 (ex. 3 players = 15pts awarded).
4. Only PBAM officials and players/coaches of opposing teams can issue this penalty.
5. Uniform rules will take effect the first weekend of games of 2024.
● 1st half 20 minutes, running time except on timeouts and free throws. 2nd half 20 minutes, running time except on timeouts & free throws. Final 2 minutes, STOP TIME on all calls.
● A team retains and carries its record and standings during the season through into the playoffs. The best always plays the worst.
● If the point spread in a game is 20 points or more AT the 3 minute mark of the end of regulation – STOP TIME RULE IS WAIVED. Only shooting fouls and referee timeouts will the clock be stopped.
● 2 timeouts in the 1st half, 3 timeouts in the 2nd half. Unused timeouts in the 1st half CANNOT be carried over into the 2nd half. Timeout duration is 30 seconds. In the FINAL 2 minutes of the game each team is allowed a MAXIMUM of 2 timeouts ONLY.
● Overtime is 3 minutes with 1 timeout. 1st overtime, STOP TIME on all calls; 2nd overtime and subsequent thereafter will be 2 minutes with 1 timeout. However, it will be RUNNING TIME except on timeouts and free throws.
● A team must have a MINIMUM of 4 players to start a game. If a team is playing with 4 players and one fouls out or ejected, the game is deemed forfeit and the opposing team will be granted a 20 point win (score 20-0 on scoresheet).
● BONUS on the 10th foul.
● A player must be present on the bench for at LEAST one half during the game in play to be counted as a participant.
● Penalty for teams arriving late at scheduled tip-off time (minimum 4 players): Game clock starts & 5 points will be awarded to opposing team. If team does not show up @ 10 minute mark, game will be forfeited. Final score 20-0.
Note: Teams that are a no-show or can’t meet the minimum requirements to start a game will be penalized 50.00$ per game & will be added to the team’s registration payment.
1. A player can participate in all 4 divisions as long the player is within the age restriction ie. a 40 year-old player can play in all divisions (open / 30+ / 35+ / 40+) but a 25 year old can’t play for any division above his age group.
Note: if a player does not comply, the team will forfeit all previous games the player participated in and the player is kicked out for rest of the season.
2. MINIMUM requirements for players to qualify in playoffs:
• Open Division – must play 5 or more games in the season.
• 30+ / 35+ / 40+ Divisions – must play 3 or more games in the season.
Note: if the player does not meet the minimum and is caught participating in the playoffs, the team will forfeit the rest of the playoffs.
3. Final roster is due first weekend of games of 2024.
4. Players ages 16 and 17 must submit a waiver form signed by the parent to play in the Open Division.
• 2 flagrant fouls during the season = automatic suspension for rest of season in the division where it occurred.
• Fighting = AUTOMATIC SUSPENSION & BANNED FROM PBAM INDEFINITELY.
• Referees will dictate the level of severity of each incident, PBAM officers will have final decision.
Note: Depending on the severity of the incident, penalties will vary & decisions can be made during or after the game.
