TeenCagers – Masters Challenge

Montreal Basketball Invitational Tournament

This Event, first started in 1996 as the TEEN-CAGERS CHALLENGE, originally featured Scarborough ( Fil-ACT ) teams. The games were held at the NDG Sports Centre, now CELO, 5354 Gatineau Ave.

In 1998, the PBAM was made a Partner Organization of the LS CDN. With this acquired merited status, the PBAM was given access to the new Complex. With this added gym space, the Tournament added the Open and Masters Challenge. It expanded and with Youth teams from Mississauga, Brampton, North York and Ottawa it peaked at one point to an awesome 32 teams playing 45 games.

It continued to take the high road until 2014 when, for reasons known but best not to be discussed, it got derailed. Nonetheless, it was left in the back – burner.

This year’s Teen Cagers & Masters Challenge is a rebound, a revival. It is a summer sports event, an enterprise exclusive to the PBAM. It defines what Montreal Filipino Basketball is all about, wholesome, friendly and shared.

THE MULTI – PALS

PBAM Multi-Pals Multicultural Basketball Tournament

July 6th – 7th 2019

LS CDN 4880 Avenue Van Horne

This Multi-cultural Tournament, U-11 and U-12, was initiated 5 years ago. It is in consonance with the CDN-NDG Borough drive to establish amity and interaction between and within the diverse community of the Borough.

It has since served its intent and will continue to do so with the continued support of the Borough and the Volunteers from PBAM Youth Clubs, the Lakers, Cine-Continent and the Shawn Browne Summer Camp.
