A Gratitude Message from the PBAM President
Hello All !
After six months of hard core basketball in the PBAM Winter League Season , the jubilant division winners were finally crowned last April 30, 2016 at LS CDN-Shadd Sports Center. Congratulations and high fives to all the victorious teams, players of the games and 2nd place finishers. Again without question, all teams displayed the Filipino style of basketball at its best. The Winter League was indeed a gruelling long season but in the end, we achieved our goal and then some.
On behalf of the PBAM Management, allow me to extend my sincere thanks to the City of Montreal CDN-NDG Borough , to the staff of LS CDN Sports Center Van Horne , Westhill Sports Center Somerled and CCL CDN Sports Center Gatineau to their continued support, cooperation and full understanding to cater the needs of the Filipino basketball community.
To all the various umbrella associations, independent teams, coaching personnel, parents, supporters and fans all across PYBCOMS and PABCOMS Conferences who participated last season, a big thank you to your enormous and countless contributions.
My biggest thanks to the PBAM Team composed of Rick Aquino (Chairman of the Board), Mike Narciso , Noel Tejada , Alfonso Carrera , Jake Maguigad (Senior Adviser and Co-Founder of PBAM), Frank Baluyot and our Treasury Board (Nancy Maguigad and Lydia Baluyot ) and Jaz Barba , you are all my MVP’s and it goes without saying that you completed my tenure this year. We are truly a very good and well balance team. Kudos to all of us !!!
From the PBAM standpoint, parity throughout the league is what we want to see season after season. For all the teams who did not fare good last season, now is the time to reflect on what went wrong and how to improve your team for the upcoming season. I challenge each and everyone of you to compete better next season. Do not be afraid to fail or be embarrass of your failures. Losing is part of winning and as long as you treat every failure as a learning experience then you will end up a winner one day !
