Dors ‘Hal’ Sotero

December 31, 2016

His will be done…

It is with profound sorrow and a heavy heart to break the news of the passing of PBAM Adviser Dors Sotero on Thursday, the 29th of December 2016 .

Hal, as known to some but Dors to many, is very much relevant to and forever inter connected with the PBAM, albeit he shied away from that, did not crow about it.

The PBAM is chronicled as founded in 1971 but it was only on March 8, 1982 that this venerable Association became legit. Less of a talker but more of a mover and doer, Dors researched, did the legwork, registered with Corporations Canada and transformed the PBAM to a legal entity. It was ready for the 1st PBAM – PIBNA hosting in 1983.

Dors was a total sportsman, a basketball player first, a golfer, second. He was a hardnosed guard, semper fi to his lovable White Club and at one time, named Best Guard of the PBAM Inter-Color League . Like some Advisers, Dors was PBAM President 2006 – 2008 .

The PBAM mourns the loss of a true loyal member and shares this grief with the Sotero-Dorado families. We ask our Membership to pray for the repose of his soul, may he Rest in Peace .

For those who’s lives he’s touched there will be a viewing on Monday, January 2nd at Rideau Memorial Garden from 2-5 pm or 7-9 pm.

The funeral will take place at St. Luke’s Parish on Tuesday, January 3rd at 11 am with a reception to follow.

Requiescat In Pace.
